Alert: plugin missing or not responding

What the "plugin missing or not responding" e-mail means, the usual causes (deactivated plugin, firewall, cache) and how to fix each one.

When the plugin stops answering, our checks fall back to your home page. If the home page works, the site stays up and the chart has no gap.

When you get the e-mail

If the plugin has not answered for 3 minutes in a row, we send one e-mail. Common reasons:

  • The plugin was deactivated or deleted.
  • A plugin update was interrupted.
  • A firewall or security plugin started blocking the REST API – see Firewalls and security plugins.
  • The site moved to a new address.

Fix it

  1. Open Plugins in the WordPress admin and check that UptimeGlass is active.
  2. Open Settings → UptimeGlass. The page shows the connection status.
  3. If the site moved, connect it again from the new address.

Sites that stay without the plugin

If the plugin is missing for more than 7 days and nobody signs in to the account, the monitor is paused and you get an e-mail. Resume it from the dashboard at any time.
