Install the plugin

The UptimeGlass plugin connects your site to your UptimeGlass account and lets our checks see inside WordPress. It is the only thing you need for the Free plan.

Install

1. In your WordPress admin, open Plugins → Add New and search for UptimeGlass.
2. Click Install Now, then Activate.
3. Settings → UptimeGlass opens. Check the e-mail address – it is your WordPress admin e-mail by default.
4. Click Start free monitoring.

That is all. The first check runs within a minute. If you do not have an UptimeGlass account yet, the plugin creates one for that e-mail address; confirm the address from the e-mail we send, and alerts start going out.

What the plugin sends

When you start monitoring, the plugin sends us the site address, the alert e-mail, the site language and the WordPress, PHP and plugin versions. After that our checks ask the plugin about the database, memory, WP-Cron and the last PHP fatal error. Nothing about your visitors is ever sent.

Requirements

• WordPress 6.0 or newer
• PHP 7.4 or newer
• The REST API reachable at /wp-json/ (see Firewalls and security plugins if it is blocked)

Multisite

Activate the plugin on each site you want to monitor. Every site is connected and counted separately.

Deactivating or removing

Deactivating the plugin pauses monitoring of that site – you get no outage alert for it. Deleting the plugin disconnects the site from your account.
